I wonder, can a blog capture the beauty of a wedding day? Can a handful of images tell the sweet story of a special day when two incredible souls promised they would spend forever together? Do the pictures capture the uniqueness of a day? Is it fair to say, just like snowflakes, no two wedding days are alike?
No matter how wonderful captured images are, I fear only those who were there can truly understand the story behind a wedding day. Only those present can understand the depth and meaning behind each decision made by a couple. And I guess that is what really makes those who stand beside and around a couple the most important. The shared experience of being there, as witnesses, proclaiming, we stand with you.
Do these images truly capture the essence of the day? Can you see how Brent and Abigail broke from tradition and made their day, their day? Can you see how every aspect of their beautiful day represented what was most important to the two people who are now officially, man and wife?
Oh, the day was absolutely beautiful. Abigail got ready with her mom and Brent with his dad. There was no bridal party in sight. Instead, they opted for their siblings to walk the aisle before them. Abigail wore part of her mothers wedding dress. Their wedding date had special significance in Abigails life. Brent and Abigail shared a good amount of time together before their ceremony, just the two of them. The look in Brent’s eyes when he first took in the sight of Abigail. The relaxation that overtook Abigail when, finally, she was in his arms again. An exchange of a surprise gift. A first look with family members. The great crowd that stood during the ceremony, expressing their support. The auction of the first piece of cake. The prayers and the sweet words from sisters and brothers who have cheered these two on from the beginning. It was a place full of love. These are people full of love.
Brent and Abigail, we were honored to be with you on your special day. It is a day we won’t soon forget. We are so incredibly happy for the life you are building together. May the beauty of your day one continue throughout your marriage as you grow and change together.
