There was a day back in April, when I picked up the phone with shaking hands and nervously pressed the button to call our bride who was to be married in about one week. My voice shook as I apologized profusely and explained that I was injured and unable to walk without crutches.
I was prepared for disappointment, for anger, or at the very least, frustration toward me. Instead I was greeted with compassion, understanding and the most gracious heart of Mim.
“I am so sorry you got hurt! she responded without hesitation. “Don’t worry about a thing, she said, everything will work out as it’s supposed to. I’m not worried at all”
This story sums up this couple perfectly. Easy-going, go-with-the-flow, and oh-so kind.
Johnny and Mim’s wedding day began before the roosters first crow and before the sun even thought to crest the horizon. It was a day was perfectly suited for them and perfectly suited for their love. Johnny and Mim are adventurous and fun. We shot their engagement session at a ski slope where they love to ski and so it only seemed fitting that their first glance at each other took place on the water where they love to ride the waves.
Their beautifully simple day was highlighted by the love of family and friends who surrounded them. Their day was not only about them, but about all those they love around them.
Johnny and Mim, congratulations on your marriage. You are a gift to know and a reminder to me of all the good that is in the world.
