As Chad and I were driving to the location where we were to meet Joanna and Mose, I told him that I wish I could get rid of the nerves I feel before meeting people for the very first time. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve done it or how many people I’ve had in front of my camera for the very first time, the butterflies still come along with a lot of wonderings. Who are these people we are about to meet? Will they be friendly? Will we connect? What is their story?
In most cases, the butterflies subside with the first handshake and “hello” and Joanna and Mose were no exception. In a moment, Chad and I were greeted by their kind eyes and genuine smiles. Chad and I listened as the couple told us the story of their meeting. How they noticed each other. How they waited until the time was right. The encouragement from family members. How very early on they knew. . . they knew that they had something special.
Mose and Joanna talked about their love for nature. The hours they spend sitting in the outdoors. Their hunting adventures together. Their travels. As I listened to them talk, I couldn’t help but think that these two were made for each other. Their interests and their personalities seemed to collide to form the perfect pairing and I’m certain that anyone who knows them sees it.
Joanna and Mose, it was a pleasure meeting you and a joy to witness your love. We are so excited for you both as you venture into this next season of life together.
