The “Y” Family

Oh, this family.  The “Y” Family.

I met them about ten years ago.  As soon as I met Lisa, I knew we would be friends.  It was just a feeling, an immediate connection of the soul.  Dare I say, kindred spirit?

Ten years ago the “Y” family was a family of 4.  Now they are six.

During the past ten years we have done life together.  Lisa and I went through two pregnancies nearly simultaneously.  Chad and Joel have run the roads together.  (And consumed a lot of popcorn and Mt. Dew together.)

Our friendship extends beyond friendship and reaches toward family.  We have grieved losses together.  Celebrated joys together.  Faced challenges together.  Prayed together.  Laughed together.  Cried together.

This family is among life’s most precious gifts to me–all six of them.  They are a gift.

I wish you could know them.  Everyone should know them–or people like them.  If the world were filled with more “Y” families. . . what a wonderful world it would be.

It was such a pleasure to photograph them.  When I asked them what they would like from the session their answer was a gift to me. . . just do what you do. . .

Y Family, you know how I feel about you, but I’ll say it again.  I love you very much.  Thank you for doing life with us. . .
