Madeline. Senior Class, 2017

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to photograph some really incredible seniors this year.  Of course, I enjoy having these lovely people in front of my camera, but even more so, I have really loved learning about who they are.  Hearing their passions, their hopes, what they love about their current life and what they are looking forward to in the years to come.  It is a season full of expectation and anticipation.  A year of experiencing so many lasts before embarking on endless “firsts”.  Having the opportunity to meet these seniors and hear even a tiny bit of the dreams in their hearts has given me such hope for the the future where my own children will be walking.

I am so glad that Madeline was one of the seniors I was fortunate enough to meet.  She is bright, happy, grounded, and oh so comfortable in her own skin.  A soccer player who appreciates and devours literature of all kinds, she is focused, driven, and passionate about the things that stir her soul.  Meeting Madeline, reminded me of the quote by Howard Thurman, “Don’t ask what the world needs.  Ask what make you come alive, and go do it.  Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”  Madeline’s whole spirit seems to be alive as she looks towards the things stir her spirit.  A world with many Madeline’s would be a beautiful world.

Congratulations on your senior year, Madeline. . .
