Grace. Senior Class, 2018

I am often asked what I most like about my job. The pictures? The business side? The creativity? The working from home? The editing? From the very beginning, my answer has always been the same. What I like most about my job is, hands down, the people. Having a camera in my hand offers me the opportunity to meet people and have conversations with people with whom, otherwise, my path would likely never cross. I enjoy hearing stories and perspectives different from my own. I love having the opportunity to meet so many people who prove to me again and again that beauty reaches far beyond what my eyes see and stretches deep into souls.

Working with Grace was further proof of that. A young woman who laughs easily and is drinking deep on every ounce of her last year of high school. I was grateful to have the opportunity to meet with Grace for two sessions–summer and fall–and loved to see how her thoughts on the future changed in such a short period of time. Hearing her weigh all her options for the months and years to come, hearing her sort through her interests her passions, her opportunities reminded me of the best and scariest parts of the senior year. Grace is taking it all in stride and with all the. . . well, grace that her name carries.  No doubt that this lovely young woman will touch lives as she moves toward the next season of her life.

Grace, it was wonderful working with you. Wishing you all the best as you walk into this next season of your life.
