Mose & Joanna Are Married

When we greeted Joanna at the salon the morning of her wedding day, we could see the nervousness in her body. The anticipation that had built of over the months and weeks of planning. All the planning had culminated into this one day and thoughts of will everything go okay? or Did we forget anything? or  Did everything get done? were impossible to let go. The tension seemed to sit on her.

Later in the day, when we greeted Mose at the venue, the same tension was present. The anticipation, the waiting, the months and weeks and dreaming and planning had come to this moment. When we spent time with him in those moments before he saw his bride excitement mixed with the anxiousness for the moment when he would stand in front of friends and family and, with a few words, vow to live is life with another.

After Joanna and Mose were ready, we led them outside where they would see each other for the first time. We stood back and gave the couple a few moments to see each other for the first time. Joanna walked toward Mose and placed her hand on his shoulder. Mose turned around and as a smile spread across his face I saw as all the tension and all the anxiousness melted from both of them. No words were spoken in the moment, but it seemed as unspoken words were exchanged, ‘ahhh, there you are, the one I chose. Now I am home.’

Tension was gone. Anxiety melted away. The moment they had waited for had finally arrived–we are home.

Mose and Joanna spent their day surrounded by family and friends who love them. Surrounded by people who have seen what we saw–these two people are incredible on their own, but they are better together. Joanna and Mose, we couldn’t be more happy for you. We wish you a lifetime of memories, laughter, and endless moments of recognition. . . Ahhhhh, there you are, the one I chose. I am home.
